Today, I’m doing the Harry Potter book tag. I was tagged by Amy at Golden Books Girl (thanks Amy, I really enjoyed this one).
What house are you in?
RAVENCLAW. Always Ravenclaw. Well, that’s not strictly true. When I first joined Pottermore, it placed me in Hufflepuff, but that’s never where my heart was. I rejoined recently and was sorted into my true house of Ravenclaw. Those sorted into Ravenclaw are intelligent, witty, wise, creative, original, individual and accepting of others. I think this is fair, although I do have a fair few Hufflepuff traits also.
What is your patronus?
According to Pottermore, a tortoiseshell cat. I don’t really buy this because I’m not really a cat person. I think it would be a dog or wolf or something similar.
What is your wand?
Dogwood wood with a dragon heartstring core. 12.5 inches. Rigid flexibility.
Information on this from Pottermore says that Dogwood wands are quirky and playful, but can perform outstanding magic when paired with a clever and ingenious witch or wizard. Dogwood wands won’t produce non verbal spells (which is an odd choice for little introverted me). Dragon heartstring cores produce powerful wands and flamboyant spells. They learn quickly and can change allegiances, although they always bond strongly with their owner. Apparently these are the easiest wands to turn to dark arts, to which I say NOT ON MY WATCH.
What would your boggart be?
Either the death of someone I care about or suffocating darkness. I suspect a boggart would take the form of the latter.
What position would you play in Quidditch?
Enthusiastic spectator. I love Quidditch but I have all the coordination of a drunk Bambi wearing high-heels on ice, so I would never make it onto a team.
Would you be a pure-blood, half-blood or muggle-born?
I think a half-blood. Neither of my parents have any magical leanings, but my aunt on my mother’s side does and I suspect others in the family too. I guess my mother would have been a squib (she did yell out in the cinema during the first film “oh no, the poor baby cut his head”).
What job would you want to have after graduating Hogwarts?
I would love to be the school librarian or work in Flourish and Blotts.
Which of the Deathly Hallows would you choose?
The Resurrection Stone.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Least favourite book?
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows because it was the last one.
I love them all, but if I had to choose one then it would be Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Least favourite film?
I don’t have one. I refuse to choose.
Luna Lovegood. I just adore her.
Least favourite / most hated character?
Dumbledore. I’m not even sorry. He is not the squeaky clean good guy he pretends to be.
Favourite teacher at Hogwarts?
Minerva McGonagall. I love her!
Least favourite teacher at Hogwarts?
Umbridge. Always Umbridge.
Do you have any unpopular opinions about the series?
I do not love Dumbledore. I do not love Snape (I don’t dislike him, but I think he was a very cruel character at times). I think Harry can be a total jerk sometimes. I do think Ron and Hermione make a good couple.
If you could save one character from the final battle who would you save?
That’s me! I don’t think there are many left who haven’t done this tag, but if you fancy it, do it and let me know your answers!
