Coffee and… July Books I’m Excited For

Time to think about where I’m spending all my money next month, besides NYA LitFest, YALC and Comic Con. Join me in a coffee?

coffee and...

The Coffee:

This week, I’m drinking one of my favourite Ethiopian coffees, the Kochere from clifton

The Books:

I have two books topping my list of books I’m excited for in July: Floored and Bright Ruin.

Floored is a collaborative novel by Sara Barnard, Holly Bourne, Tanya Burne, Non Pratt, Melinda Salisbury, Lisa Williamson and Eleanor Wood. I shouldn’t need to tell you that these are some of the biggest names in YA and some of my personal favourites. This book is going to be amazing.

Bright Ruin by vic James – It’s the grand finale in the trilogy that started with Gilded Cage and Tarnished City and left us all reeling from the ending, prepared to sell our souls to Vic. I am excited to see how this ends, but I am also not ready. Not ready at all.

The Storm Keeper’s Island by Catherine Doyle. Two kids on an island with their grandfather for a summer adventure with magic and a destiny one of them cannot escape. I am really into my Middle Grade adventure stories at the moment and really looking forward to this one.

A Sky Painted Gold by Laura Wood. Sixteen-year-old Lou is swept off her feet by the boy who has just moved into the long-empty Cardew house. The more she learns about the family, the closer she comes to discovering their dark secret and abandoning her ambitions of becoming a writer. A coming-of-age romance with a dark twist? Hello. Yes please.

All These Beautiful Strangers by Elizabeth Klehfoth. A missing mother, a boarding school and a game that threatens to reveal all of Charlie’s past and destroy her. A lot of my favourite things all rolled into one novel I am eagerly anticipating.

Mud by Emily Thomas. Thirteen year old Lydia finds herself having to live on a sailing barge with her dad, his girlfriend and her three kids. What teenager doesn’t dream of this life? This book sound hilarious and I am looking forward to reading it very much.

What books are you looking forward to in July? Should I have any more on my July list?
