Northern YA Lit Fest: The Supernatural and Fantastical in YA

Hello! You might remember me raving wildly about what a great time I had at Northern YA Lit Fest earlier this year (if you don’t, you can see my posts here, here and here, as well as the interviews I did for it with Teri Terry and Lauren James– what is my life?)

The fabulous team over at UCLAN Publishing are organising another Northern YA Literary Festival. Hazel and the team are spoiling us Northerners and I am all here for it! The theme for this event is The Supernatural and Fantastical in YA and it is packed with some of my favourite authors.

Want to know more? Of course you do! The event is taking place at 53 Degrees in Preston on Saturday 21st July from 12-4.30pm. Tickets are FREE but must be booked in advance to secure your place. All the details are over on the Northern YA Literary Festival website.

There will be two panels on the day:

  • Fantasy in YAchaired by the wonderful Melinda Salisbury, with Sally Green, Taran Matharu and Alexandra Christo.
  • Supernatural in YA – David Owen will be chairing this one and talking with A.J. Hartley, Melvin Burgess and Marcus Sedgwick.

Many of the authors will be signing during the afternoon. There will be bookish face painting, a Book Exchange, and Waterstones selling books.

What more could you want? Will I be seeing you there?
