August in Books

month in books

August has been another great bookish month. Let’s face it, every month is a good book month.

mount ted

I ended July with two massive hauls and 336 books on Mount Ted TBR.

I read 20 books this month: This Savage Song, Spare and Found Parts, The Mermaid, The Belles, Rebel of the Sands, Traitor to the Throne, Hero at the Fall, Vox, Only Love Can Break Your Heart, A Place Called Perfect, Evolution, Furthermore, Make More Noise, Reasons to Stay Alive, A Far Away Magic, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (a re-read), Dear Martin, History is All You Left Me, The Coldest Girl in Cold Town, Theatrical, and City of Ghosts.

This month I added 12 books to my TBR, which you can see in my latest haul post.

I ended the month with 328 books on my TBR.

challenge updates

Where in the World? I’m still on 5/6 for this one. I have read no books whose authors hail from South America or Antarctica. If you have suggestions for either of these then please, please help!

Magic SquareI haven’t read any more for this, so I’m still stuck on 21/ 25.

Book Riot Read HarderThis month, I read the Rebel of the Sands trilogy, which I am counting as a Western, bringing my total to 9/24. I’m not expecting to tick off many more for this challenge as there are a lot of subjects on there I’m just not that interested in reading.

Beat the BacklistI ticked off 15 more books for the backlist challenge: Spare and Found Parts, This Savage Song, The Mermaid, The Belles, Rebel of the Sands, Traitor to the Throne, Hero at the Fall, A Place Called Perfect, Furthermore, Make More Noise, Reasons to Stay Alive, A Far Away Magic, Dear Martin, History is All You Left Me, and The Coldest Girl in Cold Town.

Netgalley Crackdown – This month I’ve read two more from my Netgalley list: Evolution and Vox. I also DNF two of my Netgalley books because I just could not get into them. This leaves my total at 15 Netgalley books to read.

How was your month? What are your bookish highlights this month?
