About the Book:

Splish, splosh, splash! It’s Splash Day and everyone is ready for a water fight! They’ve got their trunks and wetsuits, some wellies and rubber rings, and Mrs Rose even has a great big hose! Join in with all the splashing fun in Nick Sharratt’s beautiful debut Little Gem. Bursting with lots of rhyme, rhythm and energy for little ones to enjoy, it’s the perfect book for a young reader’s first steps on the path to reading independence.

His Thoughts:

I really liked all of Splash Day! All of it. All of it. I met Nick Sharratt last year when I was in year 2 and we went to see Nick Sharratt. I like all of his books. Splash Day! was a lot of fun. It was in a park with buckets and things filled with nothing but water and this sounds like something that I would like to do. My favourite thing was when everyone came to fill up their water and was splashing everywhere and everyone got wet and then the hose came out and everyone was soaked. I would give this 16, 326 stars.

My Thoughts:

I love Nick’s work. His books have been some favourites of mine and S’s , so when we got the opportunity to read and review this one, we were thrilled (thanks Kirsten at Barrington Stoke!) This was a perfect summery read; bright, colourful and a lot of fun (although it did make S want to splash water every where). It was also one that S was able to read aloud which we really enjoyed. Definitely one I would recommend to anyone with small children.

Thank you everyone for reading my post. If you have got any books that you think I should read or that you want be to do a review of with my mum or just on my own then let me know in the comments. See you soon,
