Coffee and… September Book Haul

This week, my coffee and I are sitting down to assess this month’s damage. Aka my latest book hauls. Join us?

coffee and...

The Coffee:

This week I’m drinking Liquidambar from Square Mile Roasters. It’s brilliantly named.

The Books:

And Then We Collided by Roseanna Threakall and Josh Baldwin. I just adore Rosie, and if you’ve read my recent Books I’m Excited For posts you’ll know I’ve been looking forward to this, so of course I picked up a paperback copy as soon as it was available.

You Only Live Once by Jess Vallance. I had the joy of watching Cora pick up a copy of this at YALC and squeal. If Cora is this excited for a book, then I need it in my life. So now I have it.

The Price Guide to the Occult by Leslye Walton. This book is 100% my aesthetic. The cover is stunning and it promises magic and murder. And burning. I’m hoping to get to read this around Halloween because it would seem like the ideal book.

Scribble Yourself Feminist by Chidera Eggerue. I was coerced into buying this one by one of my favourite booksellers, who had me sold at the very first page. It might be designed for the youngsters but I couldn’t resist a book that begs me to scribble and colour in it.

Pages and Co, Tilly and the Book Wanderers by Anna James. If I hadn’t picked this up when I saw it, I think Steph would have disowned me. I have heard nothing but amazing things about this book, and this copy was signed!

The Nowhere Emporium by Ross Mackenzie. Steph put this one on my TBR for this month, so of course I had to pick it up. I’ve read this one and will be reviewing it soon. Spoiler: it’s amazing.

A Storm of Ice and Stars by Lisa Ludekke. This book is absolutely stunning. I could not wait to get my hands on a copy, so of course I picked it up when I saw it in my local Waterstones. I can’t wait to dive back into this world.

The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. Steph said this was good. I bought it. I am easily influenced.

And the Ocean was Our Sky by Patrick Ness. I picked this up as part of my ticket for the event in Newcastle. Patrick is brilliant to listen to and this book sounds amazing, and the illustrations by Rovina Cai are absolutely stunning.

Proofs / Advanced Copies

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. This YA Psychological thriller is going to be a huge hit. It is about a woman who is found over her husband’s body with the murder weapon. She will not speak and has not done so since that night. It is also about the psychologist working with her to try to get her to speak. I’ll be sharing my full review in due course, but I loved it.

I Invited Her In by Adele Parks. It is not often that I read adult books, but I enjoy Adele’s work, and this book was brilliant. I am taking part in the blog tour for this tomorrow so check back then for my full review!

Truth Sister by Keren David. I was sent this by the lovely Kirstin at Barrington Stoke. This is a story about fostering from the view point of the girl being fostered and her foster sister and it is winderful.

Audible Credit

I have continued by audible collection of the Harry Potter books by using this month’s credit to get Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. S won’t be able to listen to it yet, but that won’t stop me!

That’s my haul for the month. What books have you added to your TBR this month?

  1. I enjoyed YOLO, and loved Pages and Co, so I hope you enjoy those! I’m planning to read the Wild Robot at some point and I’ve been looking forward to And Then We Collided, so I’m excited to eventually get to that. So, so thrilled you loved Nowhere Emporium 😊. Are you going to read the sequel? I thought it was even better, if that’s possible 💜
