I was tagged to do The Twenty Questions Tag by Steph. I loved her answers to this.
1. How many books are too many for a series?
It really depends on the series. For the most part, anything more than three books is going on a bit.
2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?
If they’re at the end of a book that’s going to have a sequel then I enjoy them. If there isn’t going to be a next book then oh hell no.
3. Hardcover or Paperback.
Paperback.
4. Favourite book?
Hush. We all know that’s not a real questions.
5. Least favourite book?
Les Miserables. Don’t @ me. I hated everything about this book, especially the 84 year long description of the sewerage system.
6. Love triangles – yes or no?
If they’re done well then yes.
7. The most recent book you couldn’t finish?
My Sister is Missing. It had the potential to be a brilliant crime / thriller that I hope others will read, but I couldn’t finish it as it triggered my MH issues.
8. A book you’re currently reading?
At the time of reading this I’m just over half way through Circe by Madeline Miller. Byt the time this goes up, I hope to be deep into Vicious by V.E. Schwab.
9. Last book you recommended to someone?
Circe by Madeline Miller. I messaged one of my best friends last night and told her she needed to read it.
10. Oldest book you’ve read by publication date?
Goodreads tells me it’s Aesop’s Fables.
11. Newest book you’ve read by publication date?
Scar by Alice Broadway. And it’s excellent. You should read it.
12. Favourite author?
Shush. No. I refuse to pick a single favourite. You can’t make me.
13. Buying or borrowing books?
Generally I buy them, but I have no objection to borrowing books.
14. A book you dislike that everyone seems to love?
It is still When Dimple Met Rishi. That’s the standout book everyone loves that I read and I just thought it was OK. Also, What if it’s Us? which I didn’t even finish.
15. Bookmarks or dog ears?
To mark my place, a bookmark. To flag up things I want to go back to when I don’t have paper tabs handy, dog ears (of course, only in my own books). This horrifies Steph.
16. A book you can always re-read?
Philip Pullman’s Northern Lights.
17 . Can you read whilst listening to music?
If I’m on a train, bus or in public then yes. If at home then I prefer not to.
18. One point of view or multiple?
Depends how well written. If a multiple perspective is written so each voice is very distinct then I enjoy it, but no more or less than a single point of view.
19. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?
I love being able to read a book in one sitting, but realistically, a few days. I have a job, a child and two dogs. Unless I’m ill or read into the wee small hours, it’s going to take me more than one sitting.
20. Who do you tag?
Really enjoyed your answers to these! I didn’t LOVE When Dimple Net Rishi, but I did really quite like it. I’m very nervous for What If It’s Us after your reaction, plus I know what happens at the end and while I know it’s realistic it’s not something I tend to like in my romance books.

That was exactly my problem with What If It’s Us?

The books I do dislike the most fall under the same pattern- required books. Those have been the ones I hated the most.
Agree about paperback- easier to carry and less heavy.
Go with bookmarks.
I have a series idea to write, and it will be a trilogy.
Books you like that everyone seems to love- oh, easy- multiple books fall under this category. Dislike Hunger Games series, Twilight Series, and don’t like Nicholas Sparks. Everyone seems to love those- not for me.
Favorite author- I can’t pick. I love different genres- classics, fantasies, mysteries. So how can you choose a favorite author?

I’m really looking forward to reading Circe, as I really enjoyed Song of Achilles, though who knows when I’ll actually get round to it!
