Hello everybody. Today I am sharing with you what I think of the Harry Potter books that I have read so far (mummy has had to help me with spelling some of the tricky words). I have read 4 of the books now.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
This is book 1. I liked about it that Harry made it onto the Gryffindor Quidditch team and that he stopped Voldemort from being strong once more. And he saved the stone from getting near to Lord Voldemort. I really like Ronald Weasley who is Harry’s first friend at Hogwarts because he is so funny. I really do not like Draco or Voldemort. Draco is always trying to get Harry and Ron and Hermione into trouble by lying to the professors, and I liked it when he got a detention. Voldemort is bad because he killed Harry’s mum and dad and that is not nice.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
This is book number 2 and I enjoyed it. I liked how Harry killed the giant basilisk and stopped Tom Riddle who is really Voldemort when he is little. And I liked that Harry managed to save Ginny. I really liked Ginny in this book and I liked the bit how she apologised for accidentally opening the chamber of secrets and letting the basilisk out. the bit where they are flying the car is really funny and I liked that best. I also liked Neville and the bit where he kept losing his grip from the pixies.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkban
I liked about Harry Potter book three that Harry can make a patronus stag just like his dad. And how Harry could go back in time one hour and save Buckbeak and Sirius Black with Hermione was helping him because she is super clever and smart. Ron did not go with them because he was in the hospital wing with a broken leg. Remus Lupin was one of my favourites in this book because he teaches the most fun lessons. I also liked it when Cornelius Fudge thought Buckbeak had escaped to the sky but actually he was in the forest.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
I liked about book 4 that Harry got past a dragon and saved Ron from the merpeople and saved himself from being killed by Voldemort. He got in the Triwizard tournament by accident and had to do 3 tasks. Number 1 dragons. Number 2 merpeople. Number 3 the maze. And I liked the Quidditch world cup which was fun apart from that one scary part. Fred and George Weasley were favourites because they put their names in the goblet but they were too young and so the age line that Dumbledore had made turned them into old men. It was scary when they got to see about the unforgiveable curses and also when Cedric Diggory was dying. Harry saw his parents as spirits and that was sad. Voldemort was very nasty in this one and I did not like the Death Eaters at all.
Have you read all of the Harry Potter books and did you like them? Tell me what were your favourite and worst bits. I will be back soon with a new post.
Hi Sam! I Love your book reviews. Which book was your favourite so far? Also are you looking forward to reading book number 5?

Hi Sam,
I’ve just finished listening to all the Harry Potter books on audio after first reading them about 20years ago! I liked seeing what you liked about them all – we agree on lots of things, I like Lupin and Fred and George too. Prisoner of Azkaban is probably my favourite of the books, which is yours?

Loved reading this! I agree with lots of your thoughts; I’m a big fan of Ron too (especially in the early books, he really makes me laugh). I adore Lupin too, and Fred and George. If you love all those characters, I think you’ll love book 5 💜. It’s my very favourite of the books and contains just about all of my favourite moments, but some of faves from these ones are the scenes with Dobby, the mysteries and how funny they are.

Sam I love your posts! They’re my favourite but don’t tell your mum! I read Harry Potter a long time ago when they first came out but they were my favourite books when I was little! I think book 4 was my favourite but I loved them all! Number 7 was very exciting, I hope you love the last two books as well!
