Today, I’m doing the Book Snob tag which I saw over on Amy’s blog. Amy always does the best tags, and I am always willing to pinch them for my blog.
Adaptation Snob: Do you always read the book before you see the movie?
Not always, but most of the time. To be honest, going out to see movies isn’t a thing that we get to do very often, so I tend to have read the book first because I have plenty of time to!
Format Snob: You can only choose 1 format in which to read books for the rest of your life. Which one do you choose: physical books, ebooks, or audiobooks?
Physical books. I love books in all their forms, but if I had to pick, I’d choose physical books.
Ship Snob: Would you date or marry a non-reader?
Maybe? I’m happily married now, and have been for ten years. Husband reads (not as much as I do, but he does read). I don’t think whether a person reads or not is a deterrent to being with them, as long as they’re respectful of how much I enjoy reading.
Genre Snob: You have to ditch one genre – never to be read again for the rest of your life. Which one do you ditch?
Oooh. I assume this means I don’t get to ditch something I already hate? If I HAD to, I would give up crime. I love it, but I love Fantasy and Contemporary more.
Uber Genre Snob: You can only choose to read from one genre for the rest of your life. Which genre do you choose?
Fantasy. That’s the one.
Community Snob: Which genre do you think receives the most snobbery from the bookish community?
Anything written by women. Women writers can’t do anything without being subject to criticism and snobbery.
Snobbery Recipient: Have you ever been snubbed for something that you have been reading or for reading in general?
I get a lot of funny looks for reading in public. I once got referred to as a c*nt whilst reading on the metro. As in : “this c*nt next to me is reading”.
Do you have any snobby book opinions? Have you done this tag? Let me know if you have, I’d love to see your answers.
