ThursTag: The Spotify Book Tag

Copy of Coffee and.... (4)

Yes, I have been trawling the archives of Steph’s blog looking for tags to do, why do you ask? This one looked fun, so here we are.

Hit Rewind: A book you go back to again and again?

I don’t re-read half as much as I used to, but one that I love, have re-read once and gone back to certain passages of over and over again is Spark by Alice Broadway. I really wish they would bring out an audiobook of this.

Romantic Ballads: A book that fives you all the fluttery feels?

Heartstopper by Alice Oseman. All the volumes. How could you not read about Nick and Charlie falling in love and not feel all fluttery?

Release Radar: A new release book you’re excited for?

It’s not out yet, but is coming soon, so I’m going to say Destination Anywhere by Sara Barnard. Sara writes the best contemporary books and I cannot wait for this.

Discover Weekly: A book you haven’t read yet but want to discover?

Everything sat on my TBR? Does that count?

Alone Again: Your favourite book genre to read on your own?

I love fantasy and contemporary books most of all. If forced to choose I would say fantasy because I love a bit of magic.

Alternative: An Indie book or author everyone should read?

I do not know. I would like to read more indie books though, so let me know if you think of any I should read, because apparently that’s a thing I’m not that good at.

Cheesy Hits: A book full of cheese you love?

Cheesy books are not my forte. I’ve scrolled back a year in my Goodreads books and found nothing. I’m sorry. It’s just not my jam.

Summer Hits: A book you re-read every summer?

There isn’t anything that I re-read every summer. I’m not a seasonal reader at all, so I would be more inclined to pick something up and reread it because I was in a particular place emotionally and needed it. If that makes any sense at all.

Power Hour: An empowering feminist book or character you adore?

No Big Deal by Bethany Rutter for Emily who loves herself even though she’s constantly being told by others that she should change herself.

All Out 10s: List 10 banging books.

Off the top of my head:

  • Hold Back the Tide by Melinda Salisbury
  • Fierce Fragile Hearts by Sara Barnard
  • The Love Hypothesis by Laura Steven
  • Only Love Can Break Your Heart by Katherine Webber
  • First Day of My Life by Lisa Willamson
  • Rumblestar by Abi Elphinstone
  • The Strangeworlds Travel Agency by L.D.Lapinski
  • Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
  • The House with Chicken Legs by Sophie Anderson
  • Grief Angels by David Owen

Have you done this tag? Which books would make it to your “10 banging books” list?
