It’s August, and it’s time for my favourite readathon, Series Crackdown, which I am being a host for this round! I’m so excited! But also, being a host meant I had to learn the RULES for this round. If you want to know more about the Readathon check out The Book Moo’s post, which has all the information you need to join! All the graphics in this post are from there!
The readathon starts today and runs for the whole of August! I’m going to be the Team Beasts Captain, and our team read is the beast that is Crescent City: House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas and our official team sprint is Friday 7th August 8-9pm. The team read isn’t compulsory, but I do hope a few of you will join me! This will be a reread for me, and it’s a brilliant book.

In addition to the team reads, there are prompts which you can work towards completing as part of the readathon. You can use a book for up to two prompts but not more than that.

I haven’t made a complete TBR for this. I already have my TBR from Steph which has one series book on which I’ll definitely be reading Orphans of the Tide by Struan Murray as well as the team read. After that, I have a lot of series books I could choose to work through, but I’m going to prioritise the ones on my Netgalley shelf which publishers have kindly approved me for:
- Dear Justyce by Nic Stone. This is the sequel to Dear Martin, which I loved.
- Owl and the Lost Boy by Amy Wilson. This is the sequel to A Girl Called Owl which was one of the first Middle Grade books that I fell in love with.
- Kidnap on the California Comet by M.G. Leonard and Sam Sedgman. I only recently read The Highland Falcon Thief and I can’t wait to get to this.
Between them, these should cover most of the prompts and will probably keep me quite busy! I do have two weeks leave this month though so am hoping to squeeze in some extras.
Are you joining us? What are you reading?
Good luck with your Readathon! I’m going to read Orphans of the Tide soon too, it’s currently languishing on my tbr shelf!
