Six for Sunday: Favourite Books / Characters / Authors

It’s Sunday, it’s the start of half term and a week off work, and for this week’s #SixforSunday we’re sharing favourite books / characters / authors. I bet I can guess at least one of Steph’s answers for this. I wasn’t sure how to approach this theme, so I’ve chosen two favourite authors, my favourite book of theirs and my favourite characters from that book.

Authors

Melinda Salisbury and Alice Broadway. I don’t think either of these will come as a surprise to anyone who knows me or who has read this blog before. I adore Mel and Alice, they are wonderful humans and amazing authors.

Books

Hold Back the Tide by Melinda Salisbury. I love all Mel’s books but this one particularly. I read it in one sitting because I hit that part and then couldn’t put it down. I’ve read it twice since then, and it still shocks me.

Scar by Alice Broadway. I love this whole trilogy, but that last book blew me away. It was so tense, and I had no idea what would happen. It was a real emotional rollercoaster.

Characters

Murren Ross. Oh sweet Ren. He’s just wonderful. A bit grumpy sometimes, but he really just wants the best for Alva and will do anything for her. I often think about how he was after the end of the book and what he might be getting up to now.

Obel. I just love him. He is the best of people. I love how he takes Leora under his wing and helps her to find who she really is and what she really believes outside of what is forced on her.

What are your favourite books and which character is your favourite?
