Six for Sunday: Books Set Around the World

Happy Sunday! This week in #SixforSunday (hosted by the wonderful Steph – check out her blog) we’re onto the second of our Around the World in 80 Books prompts and sharing six books from around the world. Here are six books set around the world that I have read and absolutely loved.

1. Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas – This is the prequel to The Hate U Give set in a fictional neighbourhood, Garden Heights, which inspired by several real neighbourhoods in America.

2. The Mask Falling by Samantha Shannon – The fourth book in this series sees Paige and Warden spending time in Paris, which was a great setting.

3. When Life Gives You Mangoes by Kereen Getten – This book absolutely blew me away in all the ways. I adored the Jamaican setting.

4. Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi – The whole concept of this book is amazing and it is set entirely in a small cafe in Japan.

5. Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo – If you’re new here, hi, this is one of my absolute favourites. It is set half in the Dominican Republic and half in New York, and both settings are really important to the story.

6. A Thousand Questions by Saadia Faruqi – I loved this book so much. It is set in Karachi in Pakistan and we get to see so much of this wonderful setting.

Which books from around the world would make your list? Have you read any of these?
