Happy Sunday! Happy New Year! I am back to blogging (I hope) and my first post of the new year is, of course, a Six for Sunday post. This month’s theme is Fresh Starts and we’re sharing books we want to read this year. Next Sunday, we’re covering books we can’t wait for, so I am picking six this week from my existing TBR.
1. Redemptor by Jordan Ifueko. I adored Raybearer and am currently re-reading it by audiobook. I’d forgotten how much I loved this world and I can’t wait to get back into it with the sequel and see what’s next for Tarisai.
2. The False Rose by Jakob Wegelius. I loved the first Sally Jones adventure so much – it’s such an underrated read. I have had my eye on this sequel since I first heard about it, so I used my Christmas money to add it to my TBR.
3. How to Kill Your Family by Bella Mackie. This book is just so perfectly me. It sounds right up my street and more than one of my friends has recommended it. Huge thanks to Sarah Withers for the voucher I used to buy it!
4. The Revelry by Katherine Webber. Every new Katie Webber book is a cause for joy and I have heard so many good things about this one. I am so excited to read it – I’m hoping to find time to read it in one sitting.
5. The Castle of Tangled Magic by Sophie Anderson. Sophie’s books are always packed with magic and adventure and I am disappointed in myself that this one has been sat on my shelf for as long as it has. I will be reading it soon.
6. Witches Steeped in Gold by Ciannon Smart. I was so excited for this one that I pre-ordered it. I don’t know how I haven’t got to it yet, but January is the month. S has helped to choose my TBR and this is on it. I am excited.
What books are you looking forward to reading this year?
False Rose! False Rose! False Rose! (imagine a cheerkeading style chant if you will!)
It’s lovely to see you back! Hope you’ve all had a great Christmas and seen in the new year happily.
False Rose is AMAZING! And I also have Redemptor waiting. How are you finding the audio version of Raybearer? I love the idea of rereading that on audio then straight onto Raybearer…

Definitely going to try and get to the audio versions of those soon then!
I have indeed read False Rose and it is BRILLIANT! Sally Jones is ON FORM. I’m so so hoping for another adventure!
And yes, lovely Christmas thanks. Peapod’s just the right age to fully love it now so it was great!

I was thinking as I typed it that he must be getting to the really excitable stage now! I am so pleased you had a lovely time.
I am excited for more Sally. Saving it for a time when I can binge it because I know I won’t want to put it down.

Thanks lovely. I ended up DNF 100 pages in because I just could not get on with it – it might have been me more than the book. I hope you get along with it!
