Another Thursday means another ThursTag. This is a really old tag I saw on Zezee with Books whilst looking for new ones to try. And it’s still summer, so perfect timing for the Summer Madness tag.

SHOW A BOOK WITH A SUMMERY COVER! I.E SUN, BEACH ETC.

This one has a beach, clear blue water and a gorgeous blue sky. It also has the word summer on it. Do I get bonus points for that? This was one of Mel’s The Way Back book club reads. It’s not been my favourite of the recommendations, but it is a beautiful book, inside and out.
PICK ONE FICTIONAL PLACE THAT WOULD BE THE PERFECT DESTINATION FOR YOUR SUMMER VACATION!

If I’m going on a perfect holiday, I want to be near the sea. As close to the sea as it’s possible to get without holiday in the actual sea. This stunner of a graphic novel is set on a tiny island beside, and also partly in, the sea. It’s absolutely gorgeous.
YOU’RE ABOUT TO GO ON A FLIGHT TO YOUR SUMMER VACATION. BUT YOU WANT TO READ A BOOK THAT LASTS FOR THE WHOLE FLIGHT SO WHAT NOVELLA DO YOU CHOOSE?

I don’t know where we’re going on holiday, but if the flight is longer than 3 hours, I’m getting a whole book read. Specifically, I’d choose this beauty. Melinda Salisbury’s stories always hook me right in and I wouldn’t be getting off the plane until I finished it.
YOU HAVE A CASE OF SUMMERTIME SADNESS WHAT HAPPY BOOK DO YOU PICK UP TO SHINE A SMILE ON YOUR FACE?

The Secret Sunshine Project by Benjamin Dean cannot fail to put a smile on your face. These characters and there story are lush. It would be the perfect book to pick up to shake off some low-key sadness and give you something to cheer for.
YOU’RE SITTING AT THE BEACH ALL ALONE…WHICH FICTIONAL CHARACTER WOULD BE YOUR BEACH BABE?
I’m staying at the beach by myself. Me and my books will be quite happy with no fictional babe distracting us, thank you very much.
TO MATCH YOUR ICE CREAM YOU WANT AN ICY COOL SIDEKICK! WHICH FICTIONAL SIDEKICK DO YOU PICK?

I choose Camille. Sure, she’s got that whole thing of getting herself into a lot of impossible situations, she’s low-key dying, and there’s very little chance I would make it out alive, but I expect I’d enjoy myself all the same.
Are there any fictional characters you’re taking to the beach or is it just you and a stack of books?
